Teen Connection Coordinator
The Teen Connection Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining meaningful connections with youth, families, school personnel, and community partners to support youth development. This role ensures the successful implementation of programs and long-term operations, fosters engagement, and provides necessary resources to support youth in achieving academic and personal success. The Teen Connection Coordinator will manage daily operations, supervise staff, enhance programming, track outcomes, and maintain compliance with organizational and regulatory guidelines.
Essential Job Functions:
- We are currently seeking one full-time Connection Coordinator at the Ben Reifel Middle School and one part-time Connection Coordinator at the Empower Campus Learning Center. Work hours will vary based on Teen Program needs; availability between 8:30 AM and 8:00 PM is required, including flexibility to adjust hours as programming demands change.
- Ensure that each teen program is operating in compliance with state, federal and BGCA regulations and requirements and internal policies.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision for youth, staff and volunteers while maintaining a staff-to-youth ratio of 1:20.
- Serve as a role model for positive behavior and effective communication with youth.
- Responsible for staff scheduling, performance evaluations, and professional development opportunities.
- Support the development and implementation of behavioral policies and disciplinary procedures.
- Coordinate the planning, preparing, and serving meals and snacks, including reporting requirements.
- Maintain facility safety protocols, conduct safety assessments, and execute required drills.
- Communicate program successes and challenges to leadership.
- Collaborate with school personnel to identify youth needs and determine appropriate interventions and support.
- Engage with families to actively listen to concerns, assess needs, and identify and provide assistance to students requiring support in areas such as attendance improvement, basic needs, social-emotional well-being and academic assistance.
- Coordinate and deliver services to students and families, ensuring students receive necessary support, provide direct assistance with academic and basic needs, lead family engagement events and offer educational opportunities for families.
- Collect, report and analyze student data to monitor progress and impact.
- Work closely with the Programming and Quality department on program planning, development, implementation, and assessment to ensure quality and effectiveness.
- Coordinate program enhancements for afterschool and summer activities in collaboration with the CLC including mentoring programs to support youth development and success.
- Facilitate regular communication between school day and afterschool staff.
- Identify students needing academic enrichment (tutoring) and provide necessary resources such as tutoring.
- Plan transportation and field trip schedules, ensuring compliance with traffic regulations and safety policies.
- Participate in leadership meetings and represent the organization in community collaborations.
- Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
- Drive vehicles in accordance with transportation schedules.
- Provide clear and timely communication with stakeholders.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Operations – Teen Program and senior leadership.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- An associate or bachelor’s degree in education, youth development, non-profit management, social work or human services, business administration, or another related field. Experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid driver’s license.
- Minimum of two years’ experience managing youth programs, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
- A valid CPR Certification or the ability to obtain and maintain CPR certification within 90 days of employment is required. The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sioux Empire does provide training for those not certified.

- Ability to take initiative, prioritize duties, and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Constant hearing, hand-eye coordination, mind-eye coordination.
- Intermittent speaking, standing, walking, kneeling, lifting, reaching, low-level activity, and squatting.
- Potential exposure to communicable diseases.
- Frequent lifting of objects under 20 pounds, and occasional lifting of items up to 75 pounds.
- Indoor with minimal outdoor work. Extreme temperatures in the summer and winter to be expected.
